  1. Welcome to WordPress and I am excited for you to start your Homestead. It’s a lot of work, but worth every second😊

  2. Thank you! I am really excited to get started nothing truly satisfying comes easily that may be what my husband and I find so attractive about this lifestyle. Really cool to get to interact with people who already know what they’re doing

  3. I am definitely not one of those people 😂 but I’m getting there. I can grow things, but building anything seems to be a challenge. I am always learning. 😊

  4. Hey at least you’re honest! My husband builds things and I make crafts but gardening has been the struggle to end all struggles 😂

You may want to enable comments on your other posts. I strongly suggest NOT planting in front of your HVAC. If you plant in front of it, you block air flow, which causes things to start overheating and burning out. I learned this the hard way. Youcan plant things that grow fairly low to the ground as long as they don’tblock air flow. (give it at least a 2.5 foot radius of air flow in each direction). The Last thing you want in the middle of summer is your ac going out and having to fork over large amounts of cash to fix it.

  6. Thank you I didn’t even realize you couldn’t comment on my other postsI appreciate the feedback definitely don’t want my AC having issues this summer!

  7. I killed every plant that came into my house for YEARS. Finally, I decided to switch to a spray bottle and start watering that way, I started talking to my plants and they started growing. I joined a local gardening group when we bought our home and everyone strongly recommend that I have my soil tested so, I did. I took my Mason jar of dirt to the local extension office, paid a small fee and they told me exactly what to add to the soil and low and behold, I grew my first garden. I had some issues with squash bugs, but I managed to grow all sorts of things, peas, all sorts of lettuces and salad greens, tomatoes, peppers, squash. Zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, and pumpkins. I tried carrots, but ended up with nothing until the following year when tilling, hubby found the cutest tiny carrot. It was maybe an inch long and the width of a chopstick. It was adorable. I gave up on growing carrots. 😂😂😂
